SANFORD, FL. (April 30, 2018) The 2018 State of Specialty Pharmacy Report is now available to download free of charge at CSIgroup.net/Survey.
The annual report incorporates views and insights from some of the industry’s most prominent and influential stakeholders and offers specialty pharmacy professionals a tool that uncovers trends, opinions, and predictions for the future of the specialty pharmacy industry.
Within the 53-page report, readers will find insights and opinions from manufacturers, health systems and independent specialty pharmacy professionals across the nation, and be poised to drive what is most important: patient adherence and compliance, ultimately leading to improved outcomes and patient experience.
Some of the findings include:
- 86% of health systems surveyed reported that their patient census had grown dramatically over the past year
- 37.9% of independent specialty pharmacies surveyed stated that PBM lockouts continue to challenge their ability to help patients
- 75% of manufacturers surveyed extended their specialty pharmacy networks
- 44.8% of respondents say their sales team is just “average” at winning referrals
“The specialty pharmacy industry continues to evolve at a pace that is unprecedented, and 2017 did not disappoint us with more twists and turns,” says President and CEO of CSI Specialty Group Suzette DiMascio, CHE, CMCE, CPC. “Keeping up with and forecasting future change is a key challenge facing industry leaders, and we want to be on the forefront of such market intelligence to help our clients achieve excellence and optimize patient-focused outcomes. Changes to affordability, payor networks, accreditation needs, and access to limited distribution drugs all top the list of factors affecting professionals from across the specialty spectrum.”
“CSI Specialty Group is proud to be the sole organization in the specialty pharmacy space offering an educational resource of this caliber free of charge,” DiMascio continues. “We are honored to act as the industry leader facilitating education, knowledge, and collaboration among the professionals and stakeholders in specialty. Most importantly, the report provides real insight into patient care challenges; and we hope that with more education and resources available for the industry, the patient journey will continue to evolve and improve.”
DiMascio and the CSI Specialty Group team will be debuting and presenting the 2018 State of Specialty Pharmacy Report at this year’s Asembia Specialty Pharmacy Summit in Las Vegas, NV. If attendees of the event have questions or would like to discuss the survey, the CSI Specialty Group team will be available throughout the conference.
Readers are encouraged to use the findings as a resource in whatever medium deemed necessary as long as the report is cited and linked.
